Okay, so this is kind of some progress. I haven't added color yet, but I'm interested to know how people feel about this version compared to the one I posted on Friday. I feel as though the side graphics are much more resolved, and the header typeface is improved (but probably not my final choice).
Feedback please!
Yes! Much improved. Color will be crucial, but the hierarchy is working MUCH better.
ReplyDeleteThe circular graphic is much clearer. I'm not entirely convinced that the thickness changing as extremely as it does is working (it crushes your type) but I get the sense of what you're showing.
Also, on the right sided, I'd consider running the headers left justified, the right justification seems a little uncomfortable.
Lastly, would it work better for the cars graph to have it run up instead of down?
Great job on this so far.
I agree with Ryan that perhaps the changing widths are interfering a little but I think it's because you're trying to represent the numerical value of each bar in its length and width as far as I can tell. I think It makes sense to make them the same width personally.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not quite reading that the population determines the percentage of the circle a neighborhood takes up. It's a little confusing when the bar for 1 supermarket in Edmonson is longer than the bar graph for 4 supermarkets in Roland Park. I don't think it breaks, the metaphor is just a little strange.
I'm kind of digging the monochrome at the moment but I'll be excited to see some color.
Hope this helps.
