So the top image is what I had in class today, and the bottom one is one that has been worked on a bit. The black bars in the center don't have color yet. Actually nothing really has been colored yet.

the middle chart looks a lot better. it's much easier to compare the number of different food stores now. have you considered showing the scale of the population difference using the chart? I might not be explaining that well... also, I'm realizing that it might not be that noticeable since they have similar populations.
ReplyDeleteThis is much, much better.
ReplyDeleteVisually, much more distinct and clearly articulated. I understand how you're utilizing comparison.
It works well in black and white, so it should work when you add color.
The flags with the neighborhood data work really well, and create a much more accessible graphic unit.
Not sure yet how I feel about the center in terms of its representative value (I look for the slices of the pie to relate to the population totals) but I like it overall.
You can adjust them, OR you can add population to your flag/word bubble graphics, and leave the center blank, or use it to hold a title for the middle circular graphic element.
Really nice development and progress on this. Keep it up!
